Paryushan Day 6 Report 13/09/2007

Today was the sixth day of Derawasi Paryushan – a relatively quiet day after yesterday's Mahavir Jayanti Celebrations. You should have all read yesterday's report. There are three corrections.

1 The Patwa Family took the ‘Lion' sapnu and not Rushab, as reported. The correct entry should have been:

Mihir Kapadia

501

3

2 Dev Viman was taken by Vrudhi Nilesh Dhruv and not Vrudhi Nilesh Doshi .

3 Khushibhet donation from Late Chanchalben Shantilal Mehta & Family (per Pravinbhai) should have been £201 and not £251, as reported.

Yesterday's Mahavir Jayanti was enjoyed by all. If you did not get yesterday's report, you can see it (together with Mahavir Jayanti photographs) on the MF website at www.mahavirfoundation.org . On yesterday's celebration, one of our readers wrote: ‘What a Paryushan! We are very happy to know that our small organisation is doing so well. If there is any type of work I can do, please let me know. I will be too happy (and thankful) to everybody if I am given opportunity to serve.'

Kalpa Sutra: This morning Vinubhai continued with Kalpa Sutra Vanchan at the Kenton Derasar, concentrating on post Diksha period of Mahavir Swami. He narrated in detail the story of Chandanbala and the ladies sang Chandanbala stavan at the end. There was samuh chaitya vandan and arti/mangal divo after the talk.

Pratikraman

Around 150 people attended pratikraman and this increased to about 300 after the Bhavna started .

There was no sponsor for oday's Pratikraman. The whole sangh recited three Navkar Mantra to start the Pratikraman. You can sponsor tomorrow's pratikraman for £401. We already have a sponsor for the last day's pratikraman. PLEASE NOTE THAT TOMORROW'S PRATIKRAMAN WILL STATRT AT THE ADVERTISED TIME OF 6:30 PM SHARP, AS WE HAVE A FULL PROGRAMME FOR TAPASVI BAHUMAN.

Savantsari Pratikraman will be at Kingsbury High School on Sat and will start at 4:00 pm. Please take your place at 3:30 pm so that we can start the Pratikraman at 4:00 pm sharp. We need this extra half an hour for chaityavandan and sotra utchavni.

Musicians

The musicians from India (Ashishbhai of Ahmedabad) continue to give plenty of enjoyment to lots of people and they sang really well during Garba and Raas . Today's Bhavna was sponsored by Mrs Rasilaben Prabhudas Shah on the occasion of her daughter Bina's birthday. You can sponsor each day's Bhavna for £51.
